BYF Skydiving Episode is LIVE

Fear,

Nothing stops people from living the life of their dreams more than fear.

People have all sorts of irrational fears. But we are only born with two: The fear of falling and the fear of loud noise. Every other fear is learned.

In this episode we will explore one of those basic fears, the fear of falling.

Watch and listen to 5 people who have never been skydiving before and follow them thru the process of jumping “tandem style” from a perfectly good airplane at over 12,000 feet in the air!

The ending may surprise you!!

That was pretty exciting huh? Well wait till you see what happens in the next episode! I will begin my Advanced Free Fall training after 20 years in “retirement”. I will have to jump SOLO from 15,000 feet and pull my own parachute.!! Do I have a little fear? You know it. Will it stop me? Stay tuned to find out!

See you in the air!

Scuba Diving Training for Beginners

Ever wanted to learn to Scuba Dive but thought it was “too expensive” or “too hard” or would take “too long” Well…. no more excuses. We set up a course for beginners thru the Break Your Fear Adventure Club. Its only $15 for two hours of training and you get to go underwater and breathe using the tanks your first day!

For more information, sign up on our MeetUp page HERE —> DIVE IN

Description: This is an orientation to diving that allows non-divers to experience diving in their pool under the direct supervision of a dive leader, with a minimal amount of instruction and classroom time.

Knowledge. The academic session focuses on the immediate needs of divers such as equipment adjustment, equalizing pressure, breathing, moving through the water and orientation.

Skills. So you can start diving as soon as possible, you’ll practice a reduced skill set with one of our Professional Scuba Instructors in a pool water session.

Equipment. With the goal being to develop a working knowledge of scuba equipment, divers will receive an introduction to basic scuba equipment with an emphasis on equipment handling.

It’s only $15 and includes equipment and training.

Were also planning a trip to dive in open waters soon. So if you want to learn….now is the time to start and the price is right on!!

The Warriors Way

I have survived many near death experiences and one situation when my heart was actually stopped for over two minutes before I was “revived”. This quote from an ancient Samurai Warrior resonates with me and explains how I feel these type of “miracles” are possible:

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

“Consider that which exists to exist and that which does not exist to not exist, and recognize things just as they are. With such a frame of mind, one will have divine protection even though he does not pray.” ~Hojo Nagauji (1432-1519) Samurai Warrior

BYF Adventure Club Skydiving expedition

Expert Jumpers from Skydive Georgia

On November 29th me and the Breakthru Crew will head to Cedartown Georgia to do something most people would consider to be completely INSANE. We will jump from a perfectly good aircraft at about three (3) miles above the surface of the earth. Approximately 16,000 feet for those of you who aren’t so good at math (like me!?!)

This is as high as we can go without oxygen. Any higher and you risk passing out from a lack of oxygen. Next we will hurtle towards the Earth at speeds of 120-180 mph depending upon the position you hold your body in. A full “spread eagle” position will average speeds of up to 130 mph. A “track” position (with arms tucked to the side like a falcon in a full dive) will give you speeds of up to 180MPH.

I have close to 100 jumps. One problem….that was almost twenty years ago.

So…i will be re-certified by the good folks at Skydive Georgia. I went for a tandem dive two months ago but now I want to step up and get re-certified to do solo dives whenever I want with no help from an instructor. This is AFTER I spend some hours with them going back over all the basics of course!!

As excited as I am about doing all this I am even MORE excited about TWO things:

1. We will be filming an episode for the BREAK YOUR FEAR Documentary.

2. YOU are invited to join me and the crew and skydive “tandem” style! DOWNLOAD FLYER HERE

BYF Adventure Club Co-Founder Stephanie Kusic skydiving "tandem" style Sept 2011 at Skydive Georgia

You can sign up by going to our MeetUp page and joining the Club (its free) and there you will find out all about the pricing and such. http://www.meetup.com/Break-Your-Fear-Adventure-Club/events/41214132/

So if you have ever wanted to be a part of a “reality show” and you want to test the bounds of your “personal reality” come join us for a day you will NEVER forget!

See you there!

Scott

PS. check out Stephanie’s first jump video below…She was a real trooper!!

Fun with Scorpions

Scott Goodknight filming for reality documentary "BREAK YOUR FEAR"

I can remember it to this day….vividly. My younger brother let out a blood curdling scream and I jumped out of bed in the darkness and flipped the light on. He almost flew out of his bed and we quickly pulled the sheets back to see a small brown scorpion flicking its stinger angrily at anything that moved.

I immediately smashed it and we began to try and do first aid on his sting. Baking soda helps. A freshly chewed wad of tobacco will also help draw out the poison.Maybe that’s some old folk legend passed down to me around camp fires from my Texas ancestors that was really about an excuse to have another chew of tobacco….who knows.

All I do know is that we were taught, and we learned the hard way, that scorpions were to be avoided at all cost. The sting is more intense than a bee sting and can even be deadly in some species.

All these thoughts ran through my mind as I stood at the exotic animal dealers booth at the Repticon show last Saturday….yet a stronger voice said “Break Your Fear” So I did. As usual. I opened my hand and held a fine specimen of the largest species of Scorpion on the planet, the “Emperor Scorpion” whose MAIN method of hunting is not its stinger…but its menacing black claws.

I quickly used several techniques I teach to others to control the fear: Control your breathing and facial expressions, use a relaxed voice tone and keep the inner “wheel” moving forward. And it worked like a charm. I calmly held him in my hand and was able to enjoy the experience in all of its exquisiteness. In minutes I challenged the other members of the Breakthru Crew; Jason and Stephanie, and they were soon holding the scorpion as well.

Check out this video for a spine tingling sensation!

So whats the moral of the story?

Its all about FEAR. Always has been, always will be.

Fear is what holds more people back from having amazing experiences than ANY other factor!

When you learn to break thru one fear, you can break thru ANY fear.

High levels of confidence and certainty are the HALLMARKS of great leaders, persuaders, sales people and negotiators.  And interestingly enough, strong feelings of self confidence are the MAIN factor in successful relationships and good physical health. In fact, self confidence will help you do ANYTHING better.

What this means is you need to have less fear and more self confidence!

In a world of media lies and propaganda designed to MAKE you feel more fear, our mission is to help you BREAK YOUR FEAR and have high levels on healthy self confidence. When you are sick and tired of living in fear, were here to help you.
